New Sign-In Procedures

We're changing the way you sign-in to Kodu and to the discussion forums. The new Kodu sign in is motivated by our goal of giving users more control over the levels that they create. Our old sign-in process required a Microsoft or Facebook account. Both require the user to be at least 13 years old and to submit an email address. With the new Kodu process absolutely no personal information is required.

Signing in to Kodu:

When you start Kodu you will now be asked to sign in to your Creator account. This dialog allows you to create a new account or sign in to an existing one.

To create a new account, pick a Creator name and a Pin number. The Creator name will show up on the worlds that you create. This will allow you to find your worlds both in Kodu and on the Kodu community web site. Choose a Creator name that is just your first name or a nickname. For safety reasons, do not use your last name or any other information that could identify you online since this name will be visible when you choose to upload worlds to the Kodu community site.

The Pin number should be 4 digits. This acts as your private password. Simple patterns like 1111 or 1234 will not be accepted.

Once you have created an account you can use the same Creator name and Pin to sign in.

You may choose to not create an account. In that case, just click 'OK' and you will be signed in to the Guest account.

At any time, if you want to create a new account you can do so by picking a new Creator name and Pin.

Once you are signed-in you can click on the button in the upper right hand corner to sign out of change accounts.

Signing in to Discussion Forums:

In order to post to the discussion forums you must still sign in using your Microsoft account. The first time you do this it will ask you for access to your OneDrive files. The reason it does this is because this is where we store your personalized account information, for instance the nickname you choose to use for posting to discussions.
